Our client, a long-established and highly regarded accountancy practice based in Cork, is seeking to recruit an experienced Audit Senior to support ongoing growth. The successful Audit Senior will be working with a varied client portfolio across multiple industries, and gain exposure to high-quality audit work and benefit from genuine opportunities for professional development and career progression.
Key Responsibilities
– Preparation and completion of client audit files and financial statements (from start to finish) to a high professional standard, within budget and time deadlines, both internal and statutory.
– Drafting financial reports as required by client assignment.
– Training junior staff in all technical aspects of accounts preparation and auditing, whilst leading them on client assignments.
– To identify areas of non-compliance with auditing and accounting standards, and to bring these to the attention of the engagement manager.
– Some travel at certain times may be required, including overnight stays.
– The position will attract additional duties depending on the type of client assignment, but will always be of a professional accounting or auditing nature.
– Working as part of a team in the provision of statutory external audit services to a wide portfolio of clients in various sectors.
– Preparation and review of high-quality audit planning and reporting deliverables.
– Presentation of results of engagements to the engagement manager.
– Contributing to the development of your own, and the team’s, technical acumen through continuous coaching, mentoring and leading your team on engagements.
Requirements
– The Audit Senior will be ACA or ACCA-qualified.
– Minimum 1 years’ experience in an Irish practice-based audit role
– Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards and accounting principles
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Proven ability to manage deadlines and multiple assignments efficiently
– Experience with audit software (e.g., CaseWare) is desirable but not essential
