Our client is a leading Irish accountancy and advisory firm, renowned for delivering exceptional client service and expert financial guidance to ambitious, growth-focused businesses. As part of its continued expansion, the firm is seeking to appoint a Financial Controller to join its multi-site operations. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the successful candidate will lead the finance team and oversee day-to-day financial operations. This is a key leadership role offering the opportunity to shape and enhance the finance function, provide strategic financial insight to stakeholders, and support the integration of future acquisitions as the business continues to grow.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all finance operations, including management accounts, cash flow, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, taxation, and payroll.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and business performance.
- Oversee statutory compliance, including tax filings, audited financial statements, and the management of the annual external audit process.
- Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems, and controls while leading, mentoring, and developing the finance team.
- Partner with senior leadership on strategic initiatives, including acquisitions, integrations, due diligence activities, banking relationships, and wider business growth projects.
Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) with a minimum of 8 years’ post-qualified experience.
- Proven experience in a professional services environment, such as an accountancy practice, legal firm, or other partner-led organisation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across the business.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality financial reporting and analysis, supported by strong technical, systems, organisational, and team development capabilities.
