Our client, a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in North Dublin, is seeking an experienced Audit & Accounts Director to join their leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded practice professional who enjoys managing client relationships, developing teams, and overseeing a substantial portfolio of clients. Working closely with the Partner, the successful candidate will take responsibility for a portfolio generating approximately €700k- €800k in annual fees, ensuring clients receive an exceptional level of service while supporting the ongoing growth and development of the practice.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a substantial portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients, with a strong focus on audit-exempt accounts preparation, review work, compliance, and advisory services, ensuring all assignments are completed to a high standard and within deadlines.
- Review statutory accounts and financial statements prepared by Senior and Semi-Senior Accountants, while overseeing, mentoring, and developing a team of approximately 4-6 staff.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, leading meetings, handling queries, providing commercial advice, and liaising with Revenue and other regulatory bodies on their behalf.
- Support the Partner in managing workflow, client service delivery, and portfolio performance, with involvement in a limited number of audit assignments where required, though the role will be predominantly audit-exempt.
Requirements:
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience within an Irish practice setting.
- Currently operating at Senior Manager, Associate Director, or Director level, or ready to step into a more senior leadership position.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and financial reporting.
- Previous experience reviewing work completed by junior and senior team members.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and oversee a substantial portfolio.
