Our client is part of a well-established group operating across multiple sectors, including engineering, plant equipment, retail, and property investment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised Accounts Administrator to become part of a busy finance team.
Suitable for an experienced Accounts Administrator or a part-qualified/qualified accounting professional, the position provides broad exposure across finance operations while supporting the effective management of financial processes and reporting. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting business performance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily finance operations including sales ledger, purchase ledger, invoicing, supplier payments, account reconciliations, and cash management.
- Prepare financial information including VAT and statutory returns, month-end journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed asset records, and management reports.
- Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, payroll administration, year-end accounts preparation, and external audit requirements.
- Maintain strong financial controls, improve finance processes and systems, and provide administrative support across the wider business as required.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience within an accounts or finance function, with a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles, accounting processes, and internal controls.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, capable of working independently and managing competing priorities effectively.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and finance software; experience with ERP systems such as Sage or SAP would be beneficial.
- Relevant qualifications such as ATI, Accounting Technician, or part/fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA are advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional, dependable, commercially minded, and collaborative approach.
Salary / Benefits
