Our client, a well‑established accountancy practice in Galway, is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper / Payroll Specialist to join their growing team. Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, including bank reconciliations, AP/AR, general ledger entries, VAT returns, and support with management accounts.
- Liaise with clients to gather information, resolve queries, and ensure smooth delivery of bookkeeping services.
- Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for multiple clients in full compliance with Revenue requirements and payroll legislation.
- Prepare and submit payroll returns, handle employee payroll queries, and maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
Requirements
- Accounting Technician qualification (ATI or equivalent)
- IPASS Payroll Qualification (essential)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within an accountancy practice
- Strong understanding of Irish payroll legislation and Revenue systems
- Proficiency in bookkeeping and payroll software (e.g., Surf Accounts, Sage, BrightPay, or similar)
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive salary: €40,000 – €45,000 DOE
