Our client, a well‑established and reputable small to medium‑sized accountancy practice based in Co. Kildare, is seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with at least 2 years’ Irish practice experience who is looking to broaden their audit exposure in a supportive, collaborative, and community‑focused firm.
Working with a diverse portfolio of local SMEs, family‑owned businesses, and growing companies, the successful candidate will gain hands‑on experience and enjoy genuine opportunities for professional development.
The Role
- Lead and manage audit assignments for a range of SME clients across various sectors
- Plan, execute, and complete audits in line with relevant auditing standards
- Supervise and support junior team members, offering guidance and mentorship
- Build strong client relationships and act as a key point of contact during audits
- Prepare audit files for partner review and assist with the finalisation of financial statements
- Identify control weaknesses and provide practical, value‑adding recommendations
Requirements
- ACA or ACCA‑qualified Chartered Accountant
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a practice‑based audit role
- Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards and accounting principles
- Excellent communication skills and a personable, client‑focused approach
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a busy practice environment
- Experience with audit software (e.g., CaseWare) is an advantage but not essential
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: €65,000 – €70,000, depending on experience
